Dear residents of Gilchrist County, if elected as your Tax Collector, I will be committed to serve

you with superior customer service, financial integrity and up to date, budget friendly innovation.

The Tax Collectors’ duties and responsibilities are to act as an agent on behalf of various state

and local governments at a local level for the collection of taxes, revenue and public funding. It

is the responsibility of the Tax Collector to make sure that all the funds are then distributed to

the correct taxing authorities in a timely and accurate manner. The Tax Collector working

closely with state agencies such as the Department of Revenue, Department of Highway Safety

& Motor Vehicles, and Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, enables us to be able to

provide the services to the community such as driver’s license, fishing license and tag & title

services.

I have worked closely with the Honorable Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners, as

we are a budget office. I have also been privileged to work closely with the Clerk’s Office and

the Property Appraiser’s office, together, we ensure that proper protocol with the laws and

Florida Statutes have been followed where your taxes are concerned. Every year I carefully

examine each Resolution from all the different taxing authorities of the County and ensure that

each district within our County are getting the correct millage on their tax bills. I have assisted

residents with hardship situations to obtain the allowable waiver extended to them in the

Resolutions from the Board of County Commissioners.

I have and will continue to work with every customer on a personal level. Every issue that you

may have will be as important to me as my own as it has been for the last 21 years of my

service in the Tax Collector’s Office.
